The Institute of Molecular Bioscience located at the University of Queensland, undertakes globally competitive research to decipher the information contained in the genes and proteins of plants, animals and humans.

The central focus of the Expression Genomics Lab is to globally survey genomic, transcriptomic and epigenomic information in order to define the underlying molecular networks controlling key biological processes and disease states. It has pioneered expression profiling using all major array platforms including in house spotted arrays and commercial arrays from Affymetrix, Agilent, Combimatrix and Illumina. Custom arrays have also been designed to study alternative splicing using exon-specific and exon junction probes.
