The Australian Wine Research Institute has launched a pioneering wine yeast program that will help demonstrate systems biology in Australia.  The project will require the collaboration of all four platforms to integrate ‘omics data generated on a model wine yeast, saccharomyces cerevisiae.

Over the next three years, AWRI intend to construct predictive models of wine fermentation that will not only provide a test bed for a systems biology approach, but should also provide new knowledge and commercial outcomes for one of Australia’s major industries.
